FLS Setup Screens Contacts Screen The Contacts Screen was designed to aid you in organizing and maintaining a complete record of all the companies and people that you need to contact on a regular basis. All the necessary information such as the company name, contact person, mailing address and the type of company are stored in an easy to use filing system. Pens Screen The Pens screen was designed to allow you to create and maintain a comprehensive list of the Pens that are located within your feedlot. It also gives you the capability of entering in a description that you can associate with each pen, which will make identifying them easier. For example Pen #5 could be described as the "Sick Pen". Lots Screen The Lots screen is the area in FLS that maintains all of the ownership information as it relates to the various groups of cattle on your operation at any given time. This is the screen that you will use to set up various ownership groups or designations for the clients that you service. From the Lots screen, you will be able to set up various groups of cattle with multiple owners with variable ownership percentages. (Invoice) Items Screen The Items Screen is where you will set up all expense items for billing purposes other than feed. Items such as straw, salt, transportation, implants, vaccines, or antibiotics can be set up in this screen. Post Mortem/Culling Screen The Post Mortem and Culling screen allows you to maintain descriptive codes that you can later assign to an animal during a Post Mortem or Culling. This will enable you to better group them based on the cause of death. For example, the initials BLT - can be an abbreviation for "Bloat" and the initials LM - can be short for Lame. Animal
Types The Animal Type screen was designed to allow maximum flexibility in creating and maintaining categories that reflect the many types of animals that are processed during induction. This allows you to group the incoming animals together based on similar characteristics. Components Screen The Components screen is where you will set up all Component items for creating rations. A Component is anything that is a feedstuff, including barley, silage, hay, supplement, or corn. This screen will capture values, cost and dry matter percentages. As well, your inventory of the specified components, including purchasing, is controlled in this screen. Rations Screen The Rations Screen is where you will formulate the different rations that you feed in your operation. You will compose the Rations using the Components that you set up in the Components Screen. FLS will calculate for you the cost, margin and dry matter percentage of the ration. The Rations screen will capture costs both As Fed and on a Dry Matter basis. Back
